I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, both in the state of North Carolina. My practice operates under the legal name MRK Counseling, PLLC

 

I have over 19 years of experience providing individual and group therapy to all types of clients. I have worked in substance abuse treatment centers as well as outpatient mental health. Clients that I have worked with over the years have had diagnoses of Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Suicidality, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Substance Abuse, PTSD, Grief and Loss, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, as well as a variety of family and relationship issues. 

 

I have thoroughly enjoyed my years working in public mental health. When my clinic at Wake County Human Services was closed in June 2013, I made the decision to go into private practice, so that I would have more flexibility and time to spend with my husband and two sons. So far private practice has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience.
